Too Much Sax and Violins

I’m up in my bunk right now and there’s this commissioning parade ‘dine in’ for the seniors (with shaun ‘best pt in ocs’ phoon in their midst) happening at the cadet mess down stairs. What makes me more sim tia than seeing dudes two weeks from becoming 2LTs engaging in wine, women and song is that there’s a jazz ensemble from the SAF band belting out the usual big band standards. And I think to myself, I could be there lehh.

I miss making music. And ping pong, while we’re at it. :(

It’s damn funny la, just a year or so ago I was a section leader in a section of  7 or so guys comprising soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones and sectionals meant tuning together and playing like one fine sax. And 12 months later instead of continuning my adventures in band land, I’m the occaisonal section commander of a section which too has 7 or so guys, comprising of SAR-21s, SAWs, M203s and Matadors where section training means chionging up hills together shouting ‘ahhhh–woooo’!

Anyway the band just played ‘Sway’.

Yea, sibeh suay.
